The Auner Quartett is a Viennese string quartet and focuses in particular on works either written by Viennese composers or composed during their stay in Vienna. These include works by contemporary composers such as Johanna Doderer, Serkan Gürkan and Aleksey Igudesman as well as works of Viennese late Romanticism by Zemlinsky, Webern or Wellesz and works of the Viennese Classical period.
Vienna, then as now, is a magnet for musicians from all over the world. Despite their shared training in Vienna, the members of the quartet have international backgrounds which they bring into the choice of repertoire. Alongside works of the “standard literature”, the following list therefore also contains works from Russia and South America.
